What do your prices include?
For all countries around the world the prices shown on our website include the product made to order especially for you (unless otherwise agreed when you place your order), export-wrapping by the manufacturer where necessary, and export customs clearance where appropriate. They exclude delivery and UK VAT. For an all-inclusive price and full details of what precisely is included and excluded, please call us on 0044.1752.290748 or submit either an Enquiry Form or a Request for a Quotation.
Must I pay the UK VAT?
In the EU:
Yes, if you are a private individual;
No, if you are a company and you have an EU VAT number, and the invoice is made out to your company, and you tell us that you will pay VAT in the destination EU country under the EU Reverse Charge Scheme.
Outside the EU:
No if shipping is carried out by our approved agents;
Yes, if you use your own shipping agent; but the UK VAT will be refunded to you if we receive proof of export within three months of the goods being delivered to your agent.
Where can I see and try the beds that are shown on this site?
You can see our own brands Dartmoor and ROGER CHARLES pocket-sprung beds and mattresses at a showroom in Devon by appointment with and accompanied by us; and you can see any Relyon or Dunlopillo product by appointment with and accompanied by us at the Steinhoff factory in Wellington, Somerset. All showrooms are within an hour’s drive of an international airport (*See Fly, Try and Buy below). We have no facility for showing you Millbrook products as they do not allow members of the public into their factory showroom.

If you pay us a non-refundable £100 commitment fee to contribute to initial expenses we shall gladly meet you at the station or airport that is nearest to the appropriate showroom, accompany you on your visit and return you to your station or airport afterwards. If you order a bed or mattress from us within three months costing more than £1500GBP, we shall deduct the £100 from your invoice.
How can you help me if I am unable to travel to see your beds?
This is how 90% of our valued clients buy their beds from us. We will help you in the same way as we have helped them. Just answer a few simple questions to help us to advise you and we will give you all the information you need to enable you to make an informed decision. Before long you will be sleeping better than you have ever slept before. This advice will cover such aspects as the size, type, colour and style of the base (if required) and its feet, legs and castors and storage options; mattress comfort and support including most suitable spring tension, headboard type, style and colour; and accessories (if required). Contrary to popular belief, it is not always necessary to try your bed before buying it. But f you do, then please try it properly.
What does delivery cost and what does it involve?
This depends on where you live, how many beds you order, and the level of service you ask us to provide.
We prefer, whenever and wherever possible, to deliver your bed into your bedroom, unwrap and assemble it, and take away the packaging. Only in that way can we be sure that your purchase reaches your bedroom and is in perfect condition. This service, to many parts of western Europe where the bedroom is no more than one floor above ground level (unless there is a suitable lift) and where there is unrestricted access for a HGV both physically and legally to within 50m of the property, costs on average £375GBP plus VAT. For other parts of the world prices vary widely, but as an example, our "into the bedroom service from the factory in Australia is around £650GBP.
The service is provided by our approved British international house removal company with whom we have been working for 10 years. The cost is kept low by sharing the company’s trucks or containers with other customers. Where we are unable to deliver into the bedroom, we can arrange delivery to your nearest port or airport.
You will need to arrange import customs clearance and may have to pay taxes, duties and other charges in your country. Please ask the relevant authorities for guidance on taxes and duties and other charges before you commit to buying from us. We suggest that you use the services of a customs agent if you have not imported before or recently as the information available to us may be out of date..
If you do not require our service, we can arrange to deliver your goods to your own chosen carrier on the UK mainland, or for you to collect the goods from the factory.
How do I know can I trust you?
Nearly all of our clients around the world have bought their beds or mattresses from us without trying them. Many had misgivings before buying from us from many miles away.
