About Woolroom

The Woolroom and a love of Wool

It's not every day that you get to realise a dream, to bring to life something that's been growing in your imagination for many years but that is what Chris Tattersall of the Woolroom did when he started the company. And for everyone at Woolroom, it represents an achievement, a bringing together of British farmers and shepherds, of craftspeople, scientists, designers, and a team dedicated to customer service.

Why Wool?

Wool is one of nature's treasure and for thousands of years wool has comforted us. Its heat-regulating qualities keep you warm when you're cold and cool when you're hot which can help to alleviate disturbances that wake you during the night; it's naturally absorbent and takes moisture away from the body and releases it into the air which makes it comfortable in warm and cold weather; it's durable, dries quickly and naturally resists static, dirt and dust so will last years; it's fire-retardant naturally so, it can resist flame without the chemical treatment involved in fireproofing; it's renewable and sustainable which means that it is kinder to environment; and its hypoallergenic properties help to keep dust mites, fungus and other allergens at bay and the Woolroom have the Allergy UK Seal of Approval to prove it. All of which makes wool a smart choice for sleep and is why the Woolroom incorporate this miracle fibre into all of their natural beds, mattresses and bedding Discover the difference with beds, mattresses and bedding which help you sleep better.

Woolroom Craftsmanship

The Woolroom beds and mattresses have been designed for true comfort and not only look elegant and beautiful but are truly beautiful from conception to delivery. They are handmade in the UK by master bed makers, the materials used are locally sourced where possible, contain natural fillings, no synthetics, and no flame-retardant chemicals and 100% British Wool. The Woolroom bed frames and divans are made using modern pocket spring technology to support the mattress and help extend the life of your bed and they are covered in fabrics woven by some of the oldest, proudest names in British design.
