Dunlopillo – History
In 1929, before colour television was introduced and the world still saw things in shades of grey, a scientist in the UK named Edward Murphy invented latex foam. Thus began the rich history of Dunlopillo, and soon their first – and the world’s first – latex mattresses were made. Since then, their contribution to innovation has helped to bring comfort and support in sleep to the lives of millions.
Today Dunlopillo UK latex is in high demand for its enduring comfort, durable support and luxurious feel. Dunlopillo UK's discerning customers truly appreciate not only latex’s natural anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties which are ideal to rejuvenate and revitalise the human body; and their ethical practice as all the latex they use is from sustainably managed plantations around the world; but also their eco-friendly products as the rubber trees from which the sap is harvested and the mattresses are made, purify over 90 million tons of carbon dioxide a year.
Their customers can also be confident that they treat their employees fairly, with respect for their human rights and will not work with any organisation that either has ever been or is found to be knowingly involved with either human trafficking or modern slavery.
In recent years, Dunlopillo have been awarded three Which? Best Buy awards and continue to take sleep seriously, crafting contemporary designs that blend comfort with style and enabling their customers to enjoy a natural night's sleep and wake up feeling fresh, clean and healthy. After all, the better your nights, the better your days.
